about KATIE
I'm Katie Lee Hornberger, a multi-state licensed, certified genetic counselor. When I first started my career in reproductive genetic counseling over eight years ago, I had no idea that I would be facing a fertility journey of my own. My partner and I started trying for our second child in 2018 and were met with unexplained recurrent miscarriages- five of them.

On this channel I share information about genetic testing related to fertility including explanations of carrier screening, genetic testing on embryos, non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) and much more. I also share my own experience with recurrent miscarriage and review books on pregnancy loss.

Matched with U of M
I applied to 10 schools this time, got interviews at 6, and matched to University of Michigan! I couldn't have done this without all the incredible resources you have shared through your channel. The channel was a major source of support for me when I didn't get any interviews at GC programs last year. I've also relied on your channel for application tips, be it for writing my CV, personal statement, or preparing for interviews.
